Joseph Suttle - A Life In Art

Joseph Suttle’s interest in art began as a child when he was confined to a wheelchair for years with a hip disease.   He has been painting and teaching art most of his life.   Most of his earlier works were painted with oil paint in a very traditional style.   Since 2000 he has been painting with acrylic paint only.   He has developed a more contemporary style while experimenting with acrylic.  The subject matter of his work varies greatly, including nonrepresentational  paintings.    He works and teaches in his studio in Monroe, NC.
